Richard D. Welch “Dick” Chili: Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at age 74. Predeceased by his parents, Richard and Geraldine; and many aunts and uncles. Survived by his wife of 41 years, Lynne; children, Kaylan Welch and Joshua (Andrea) Welch; brother, Greg (Pat) Welch; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Jim) Riley; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Throughout his life, Dick exemplified commitment and dedication to different careers as his journey evolved. However, he found true happiness in how he spent his leisure time. Dick proudly served his community as a volunteer firefighter for the Chili Fire Department. He enjoyed the outdoors as an enthusiastic gardener and took great pride in his lawn, or more so took great pride in his lawn tractor. In his downtime, Dick was an avid reader and was always looking to expand his knowledge of history and all things regarding aviation and aircrafts. He always had a soft spot and an unconditional love for his numerous furry friends and pets he had throughout his life. Most importantly, Dick never passed up an opportunity to spend time with loved ones telling his elaborate stories and sharing a few laughs. Dick’s proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly centered around his family. Over 41 years of marriage, Dick and Lynne created a beautiful life together built on a foundation of not only love, but on a foundation of friendship. Above all else, Dick’s greatest joy was being a dad to Kaylan and Josh. Not just being a father, but being a dad. He loved spending quality time with his family at their cabin on Lake Demons, which was truly his happy place where countless memories will forever be cherished. Dick made sure that not a day went by without Kaylan and Josh knowing how proud he was of them or how much they were loved. A true family man, Richard “Dick” Welch leaves behind a legacy of love, patience, kindness, strength and courage, whose memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. “We will see you sometime.” Family and friends may call Tuesday, July 28th from 4-6pm at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home, 2771 Chili Avenue Rochester, NY 14624. Funeral Service to follow calling at 6pm at the funeral home. Private interment at Boughton Hill Cemetery in Victor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hildebrandt Hospice or the Chili Fire Dept.
