Lyle D. Hibbard

Lyle D. Hibbard passed away suddenly on August 12, 2025. Lyle was predeceased by his parents, Durwood & Florence; brother James; & brothers-in-law Glennes “Sonny” Hayes, and the honorable Judge Michael A. Telesca. Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Maureen; his children, Courtney & Chad (Laura); his 3 beautiful grandchildren, Aiden, Kian, & Mia; sisters Ethel Telesca & Lois Hayes, & brother Robert (Marlene); as well as many nieces & nephews. Lyle was born in Bath, NY & grew up in Prattsburg, NY. The youngest of 5 children, Lyle was a great athlete, playing basketball through high school & college. Lyle also played the trumpet & had a beautiful tenor singing voice. Lyle completed his studies at Practical Bible Training School & Calvary Seminary. He then pastored a church in Kansas before returning to Practical Bible, where he taught for 7 years. In 1984, Lyle moved to Rochester, NY, working at the Department of Social Services for a few years, where he met Maureen before ultimately starting & finishing his career with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department as a Sheriff’s Deputy in the civil bureau for 20 years. Lyle is the oldest person on record to complete the police academy at the age of 56. Lyle was very active in his church, Northridge Church in Rochester. He loved to travel & was an avid Boston Celtics & Buffalo Bills fan, but what he loved most was spending time with his family. Lyle loved the Lord with all his heart & he loved discussing & teaching Scripture. Lyle was kind, had a huge heart, & loved making people laugh. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, & friend. He leaves behind a godly legacy through his wife, children, & grandchildren. We know that Lyle is with the Lord, & we look forward to a beautiful reunion one day. Family and friends are invited to call at the Leo Bean Funeral Home on Sunday, August 31 from 11am-1pm, followed by a memorial service at 1pm at the funeral home.
