George Thomas Slattery

Gates: Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at age 86. Survived by his loving wife, Beverly; son, Douglas (Patty); and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Tom was born in Rochester, NY and was the only child of his parents. From a young age he worked multiple jobs and learned the value of a day of hard work. His work ethic was second to none and he found success, eventually starting his own business providing affordable parking throughout the city of Rochester. Even more important than finding success, he found true love when he met his wife, Beverly, over fifty years ago. They shared nearly fifty wonderful years of marriage filled with happy memories and countless adventures. If he wasn’t driving around the city managing his parking lots, most likely you would have found Tom on the golf course. He lived most of his life in Gates, NY and was a long time member at Brook Lea Country Club. If you walk around the club, it would be impossible to not run into one of “Slatts” old golfing buddies or stumble upon his name etched into awards for his stellar play. Over the winter, both him and his lovely wife would go down to Orlando to continue to work on their golf game. Outside of golf, Tom loved cars and living life in the fast lane. Whether it was driving around his Mustang or doing laps around the race track, he always loved being behind the wheel. Although Tom did not have a large immediate family, it felt like his family was much bigger. Whether it was his own son, his employees, his in-laws, or his golf buddies, Tom would go out of his way to help those that he cared about. In doing so, he grew his “family” and touched the lives of so many people throughout Rochester. Even though he wasn’t overly sentimental, you could always feel his love, and that is even more apparent now that he is gone. He will be greatly missed by all of his loved ones.
