Donna L. Gremminger Gates: Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Predeceased by her grandparents, Flora and Donald Taylor; and stepfather, Clifford Petrie. Survived by her mother, Carolyn Petrie; loving husband of 45 years, George; cherished daughters, Genna Lynn Gremminger, Laura Marie (Richard) Lenzi and Carolyn Ann (Frank) Williams; grandchildren, Abby, Grace, Lily, Alison, Nathan, Camryn, Flora and Nicholas; brother, Jacob (Ashley) Petrie; and many cousins and dear friends. Donna Lynn (Malanga) Gremminger, 66, passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2026, following a short illness with mesothelioma. While her passing came far too soon, Donna leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and beautiful memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Donna was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, to her beloved mother, Carolyn Petrie. She spent her early childhood in Linden and Madison Township, New Jersey, before moving to Monmouth Beach, New Jersey. Donna often described her years in Monmouth Beach as some of the happiest memories of her life. It was there that she developed her lifelong love of the ocean, the beach, and fishing with her grandfather. Donna was preceded in death by her grandmother, Flora Taylor; her grandfather, Donald Taylor; and her stepfather, Clifford Petrie, who was very dear to her heart. Later in life, Donna welcomed her brother, Jacob Petrie (Ashley), into her family, and she loved him dearly. Donna graduated from Shore Regional High School and went on to earn her degree from Harcum Junior College. In 1980, Donna met the love of her life, George. Together, they shared 45 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, family, and countless memories. Their greatest joy was their three daughters, Genna Lynn Gremminger, Laura Marie Lenzi (Richard), and Carolyn Ann Williams (Frank), who were truly the center of Donna’s world. In 1993, Donna and George moved their family to Rochester, New York, where they continued to build their life together and create a loving home for their daughters. Over the years, that family grew to include eight grandchildren: Abby, Grace, Lily, Alison, Nathan, Camryn, Flora, and Nicholas. Donna had an amazing one of a kind sense of humor and an unmistakable ability to bring joy to everyone she met. Her laughter was infectious, her warmth was genuine, and her personality could brighten any room. She had a special way of making people feel welcomed and loved. Donna cherished music and dancing, had a deep love for animals, and found her greatest happiness in being surrounded by the people she loved. Donna’s greatest legacy will not be measured by the years she lived, but by the love she gave so freely and the happiness she brought to the lives around her. She leaves behind a family who will carry her with them in countless ways—in their laughter, in their memories, in the music they hear, and in the love they give to one another. Donna will be deeply missed by her husband, George; her mother, Carolyn Petrie; her daughters, Genna, Laura, and Carolyn; her grandchildren, Abby, Grace, Lily, Alison, Nathan, Camryn, Flora, and Nicholas; her brother, Jacob; and all of her extended family, friends, and loved ones who were fortunate enough to know her. Though her time with us was not nearly long enough, Donna’s love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will live on forever in the hearts of everyone whose life she touched. She was deeply loved.
