Donald G. Suter

Donald “Don” George Suter passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026. Don entered into eternal rest at the age of 95. He was predeceased by his wonderful and caring wife Eleanor of 73 years, his parents Edward and Helen Suter, brothers Edward Jr. and Baby Suter. His memory will be cherished by children Jim (Peggy) Suter, Kathy (Tom) Stephany, Nancy (Pete) Zambuto and John (the late Frances) Suter; grandchildren Jamie (Hartley) Suter, Melissa (Chris) Amico, Peter Zambuto (the late Katie), David (Emily) Zambuto, Michelle Mika; great-grandchildren Emery Suter, Eliot Suter, Luca Amico, Lia Amico, James Zambuto, Gabriella Zambuto, Hannah Zambuto, Julianna Mika, Jeremy Mika, and many close friends. Don was born in December 1930 in Rochester, NY. Don graduated from East High School. He worked for Hart Grocery Store in the City of Rochester until he moved to Spencerport and became the manager of the Hart Grocery Store in Churchville. Don worked for Specialized Printed Forms and retired as an IT Supervisor after 30 years. Don also ran his own printing business, Donel Graphics. His dedication to public service began in his early 20s when he joined the United States Army and then was drafted to serve as a Military Police Officer in Europe during the Korean War. After he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, he served his community with National Ambulance and the Churchville Fire Department. He was appointed trustee of the Village of Churchville and served intermittently until he was appointed Deputy Mayor. Don married his loving wife, Eleanor, in 1953. She accompanied him to Europe where they were able to tour many countries including France. Their love for travel continued throughout their life together to include many trips to their favorite place, Disney World, visting family in Colorado and many other adventures. Don's love for his family was evident. Spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was some of his fondest memories. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the caregivers that helped care for Don. Family and friends may call at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home on Monday, June 15th from 4-7pm. Funeral Service Tuesday, June 16th at 10am at the funeral home.
