March 7, 1940 - September 6, 2021
Louis (Lou) J. Muratore Rochester/Jupiter, FL - It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you that Lou peacefully went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2021 at the age of 81. Lou is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Margaret (Izzo) Muratore and loyal step-daughter, Jacqueline (Jackie) DeSantis; nephews, Joseph (Pam) Petrillo and Michael (Priscilla) Petrillo; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, loving family and treasured, lifelong friendships from Rochester, NY and Jupiter, FL. Predeceased by his parents, Giuseppe and Angelina (DiMaggio) Muratore, sister, Theresa (Michael) Petrillo. Lou began his real estate career at Foxhall Real Estate in the 1970’s where he worked for his uncle Angelo DiMaggio. He went on to work for Nothnagle Gallery of Homes from 1973-1994. He became a Sales Manager for Perna Homes, became Manager, Associate Broker of the Henrietta office (2920 E. Henrietta Road) from 1982-1993. Lou designed and oversaw the building of the Henrietta Real Estate Office and Training Center where the grand opening event happened in 1985. In 1978, he designed the black onyx and diamond gold ring for the yearly Top 10 sales agents at Nothnagle Gallery of Homes. Lastly, Lou won several sales awards and trained many successful real estate agents throughout his whole career. Upon retirement from real estate, Lou moved to Jupiter, FL with his wife, Margaret at the impressive age of 53. Both Lou and Margaret have been Oceancrest residents since 1983. With Lou’s persuasion and guidance, his step-daughter, Jackie followed in his footsteps and became a successful real estate agent in Palm Beach County, Florida. Lou was a true patriot who loved his country and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He loved history and could tell you anything you wanted or needed to know about what was going on in the political world. He will forever be remembered as a great storyteller as his animated capabilities would capture your attention to every detail. In addition to the love of his life, Margaret, his passion was golf. On November 9, 2001, he aced hole #10 at Lone Pine Golf Course, playing 140 yards with his 5 wood. His Hole-in One was witnessed by one of his best friends, Larry Miele. Lou left an impact on every person he met, even strangers (who didn’t stay strangers very long because he was so friendly). The love Lou spread on this Earth continues to grow and will live on, and that is the ultimate measure of any human being. Lou will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and Friends are welcome to Lou's Committal Service located at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (meet at Dewey Ave entrance gate) on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 11:30am. A Memorial Mass at St. Pius X Church followed by a Celebration of Life will be announced in the Spring of 2022. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made in Lou's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
