Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at age 81.4. Predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Madlyn; and siblings, Frank and Teresa. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Connie; children, Barb (Ken) Bestine, Timothy (Kylie) and Jen Aman; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madalyn (Justin), Mason, Jack and Georgia; siblings, Claire Florack, George (Dahlia), Jim (Barb), Kate Wicks, Jean (Gerry) Tosch, Pat Proulx and Eileen Aman; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Bob, also known as King Bob of Chili, Henry, Old Boy, Rob, Bobby, Papa, and Dad, was the joyful fifth of 10 children born into farm life. He loved cows, math, Jeopardy, Long Lake, soccer, downplaying the Buffalo Bills, Gin Rummy, Euchre, an aggressive game of Sorry, Hallmark movies, and taking pictures. He could also build or fix anything. After High School, he entered the Army, which brought him to a Nike missile base in Michigan, it was here that he was introduced to Connie, and he swept her away back to Rochester. Once his Army days were over, he joined Kodak as an electrical apprentice. He worked his way up the ladder and eventually was in charge of reviewing all electrical design work for Kodak Park and special projects. He retired from Kodak after 35 years. Once in retirement, he found a new job at St Pius X Church, where he oversaw the Building and Maintenance Team while also trying to make math “fun” as a volunteer tutor at the school. This is also when he and Connie started traveling the world, with trips to Alaska, the Panama Canal, Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Finland, Norway, Turkey, Denmark, and many more foreign and domestic destinations. Mostly he loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. We will miss his spontaneous math problems, funny stories, the Bob mix, the gaming tournaments, the popcorn, his morning time song, the “it wasn’t me” response after it was clearly him and his hugs. So, In his words, “see ya some time, be good”. Family and friends may call Friday, Aug. 16th from 4-7pm at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral Mass Saturday 9:30am at St. Pius Tenth Church, 3000 Chili Ave. Rochester, NY 14624. Interment, St. Pius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Journey Home, 994 Long Pond Rd. Rochester, NY 14626.
