Joseph R. Dispenza

Joe was born and raised in Rochester, NY, moving to Pine City, NY as a teenager and graduating from Notre Dame High School. After graduating, Joe moved back to Rochester to attend barber school. Joe met Patty in 1975, quickly falling in love and becoming inseparable. Joe and Patty were married in 1979, spending 45 loving years together, during which they built a beautiful family and home filled with love and laughter. His commitment to his wife was the foundation of their strong, enduring relationship. Together, they created countless cherished memories that will live in the hearts of those who knew him. Their bond is a true testament to lifelong devotion and companionship. In 1987 Joe opened his own barber shop, Joey D’s, on Buffalo Road, becoming a much-loved barber for many friends, neighbors, and family. He instilled a strong work ethic in his sons from an early age. Joe was an incredibly loving father, deeply dedicated to his family and always put them first. A need for speed called to Joe! He enjoyed going to Watkins Glen raceway early on which turned into his love for motorcycle drag racing. Joe had a passion for sports and hobbies, devoting himself to one hobby at a time. He also loved to share his passion for golf, camping, and snowmobiling with his family and friends, creating many memories. Joe was an incredible grandfather who deeply cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He took them on tractor rides to look for pink elephants, taught each one to drive the boat, and practicing the fine art of fishing with them. His unwavering dedication to his family and his legacy of love, care, and integrity will forever inspire his sons and grandchildren. He was deeply loved and cherished by all who knew him. He leaves behind his loving wife Patty, his mother Sally, and his children Matthew (Kathleen), and Jesse Dispenza. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Lucia, Mason, Vera and Vincent, and his siblings Pat (Maureen), and Karen Dispenza. Joe is predeceased by his father, Louis; and his brother, Louis. His love for his family was the guiding light of his life, and his legacy of love, care, and integrity will live on in their hearts forever. A viewing will be held from 1-3pm on Friday, March 7 th at Leo M Bean Funeral Home (2771 Chili Ave, Rochester). Funeral service to follow at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wilmont Cancer Center. The family has chosen to have a private Celebration of Life.
