George W. Fingland

George William Fingland, Sr., 73, went to his eternal rest on July 7, 2026. George was born May 12, 1953. He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Marjorie Fingland; his brothers, Thomas and Roger Jeffery Fingland; and his sisters, Florence Miller, Patricia Hill, and Sandra "Rusty" Foster. He is survived by his soulmate, Cindy Foster; and his loving children, George Jr. (Amanda), Steffany (Daniel) Fuller, Shannon (Shawn), and Gregory. He was a proud and devoted grandfather and great-grandfather to Brittany (Aubrey and Raven), Cody (Dylan), Haley (Buen Jr. and Greyson), Tessa (Na'scarr), Selina (Brylnee), Donald Jr., and Shawn Jr.; his brothers, Ernest Jr. (Gladys) Fingland, John Fingland, and George Fingland; his sisters, Susan Fingland, Bonnie Twardokus, and Christine Vilinsky; as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved and treated as his own, and countless cherished friends. George was deeply grateful to be surrounded by family and loved ones who cared for him throughout his illness, both at home and at Patrick's Place. There, he found comfort and peace in the simple things he loved most—the fresh air, open farmland, and hours spent watching deer and birds pass by his window. Throughout his life, George was a man whose love knew no conditions. He never hesitated to give of himself, whether it was his time, his strength, his wisdom, or simply a listening ear. Even in his final days, George continued to do what he had always done—put others first. He made certain that those closest to him had the opportunity for meaningful visits, quiet moments, shared memories, words of love, and final goodbyes. George had a remarkable gift for knowing exactly what someone needed. If you needed a shoulder to lean on, he was there with support and understanding. If you needed a push forward, he was ready with encouragement and motivation. He listened without judgment, loved without condition, and gave without expecting anything in return. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering presence left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. The family welcomes stories and memories shared in his honor, keeping his spirit alive through the love he so freely gave to others. Family and friends may call at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Private interment will be held with the immediate family.
