Douglas Bruce Newton Scottsville: Monday, May 11, 2026 at the age of 74. Predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Newton; parents, Oscar J. Newton and Mae L. Newton; sisters, Beatrice Fletcher, Louise (Sam) Sudore, and Lorraine (Cliff) Curtis; brothers, Melvin Newton, Robert "Bob" (Debbie) Newton, Delbert Newton, William "Bill" ( Betsy) Newton, and Kenneth Newton Sr. Survived by his children, Steven, Michelle and Kevin Newton; grandchildren, Cody, Nicholas, Connor, Austin (AJ); and great granddaughter, Adalynn Newton; brothers, Edward "Eddie" (Margo) Newton, Howard Newton, Jerald "Jerry" (Gail) Newton, Larry (Lynn) Newton and Richard (Susan) Newton; many nieces nephews, cousins and dear friends. Douglas "Bruce "Newton has been reunited with his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Newton for eternity in the Lord’s presence. Bruce was a loving father to Steven, Michelle, and Kevin. He was a loving papa to Cody, Nicholas, Connor and Austin “AJ” and his precious great-granddaughter Adalynn Newton. Bruce was a faithful servant to his lord and savior Jesus Christ. He was committed to sharing the love of Jesus Christ to everyone who he talked with. Bruce found fellowship in Open Door Baptist Church. In 1971 Bruce married his bride, Elizabeth "Betty" Newton. They were married 49 years and raised 3 children together. Bruce loved cars. He loved to work on cars. He built a dune buggy in young adulthood. Bruce turned his love of automobiles into a lifelong career. Bruce was a diligent and hard worker. He opened Churchville Auto Parts and many years later moved to Henrietta and opened Henrietta Auto Parts. Later in his career he became an auto parts salesman. He worked as an auto parts salesman until health issues arose and he retired. Bruce was always there for his family. He was willing to lend a hand and a listening ear. Bruce's biggest accomplishment was to his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. His faith in Jesus Christ guided him through his long marriage with Betty Newton, through fatherhood and his career. Bruce relied on his faith and prayer to guide him through life. We are grateful that Bruce is now dwelling in the Lord’s house for eternity, free from pain and suffering. Family and friends are invited to Bruce’s Celebration of Life on Tuesday, June 2nd at 3pm at Open Door Baptist Church, 350 Scottsville-Chili Rd. Churchville, NY 14428. Private interment.
