Wendell H. Burtner

Wendell Harmon Burtner Chili - Passed away November 10, 2021 at the age of 96. Wendell was born October 11, 1925, in Butler Pennsylvania and was fourteenth of seventeen children. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend . Wendell retired from Eastman Kodak as an electrician and was a Shrine Clown for over twenty- five years. He was a devoted member of Gates Presbyterian Church. Wendell enjoyed spending time with family and friends, clowning, gardening, and church fellowship. As “Windy”, a Shrine clown, he participated in the Shrine Circus for many years as well as clowning at many birthday parties, family reunions, Chili Senior events, and visits to children at Strong Memorial Hospital. Wendell honorably served in the United States Army. Wendell was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Marjorie Christie Burtner, his parents Forest and Mary Lena Burtner, by 9 brothers, 9 sisters-in-law and 5 sisters and 4 brothers-in-law, and by his special friend Lucinda (Cindy) Price. Wendell is survived by his five children; Robert (Kathleen) Burtner, Sharon Montgomery, Kevin (Laurie) Burtner, Patricia (Edward/Rip) Collins, and Barbara Tuccio; by his ten grandchildren; Elizabeth (Michael) Schuurman, Kathryn Burtner, Jennifer (Robert) Loewke, Brooke (Tony Bissanti) Mitchell, Kelly (Henry/Joe) Thomas, Lindsay (Andrew) Mindler, Michael (Alicia) Collins, Jason (Katie) Tuccio, Melissa and Nichole Tuccio, by his eight great grandchildren; Eliot and Anneke Schuurman, Brittany Mitchell, Cole Loewke, Trevor Bissanti, Taylor Faugh, Kyler and Liam Thomas, Lincoln Mindler, and Sophie Tuccio, his brother Harry Burtner and sister Marilyn Glasgow both of Butler Pennsylvania, sisters-in-law Jane and Freda Burtner, and by many nieces and nephews. Bean and Sons Funeral Home, 2771 Chili Avenue, Rochester, NY 14624.
